Words out! Big Art Group is creating a work for Fa Words out! Big Art Group is creating a work for Fall 23 with recent graduates of Teatro Goldoni titled "The Render" as part of Asteroide Amor Festival. (from the website) Like the Amor Asteroids, which whiz by skimming the orbit of the Earth and other planets, the shows in this review take place in several places in the city and connect different worlds, bringing us signals from the Italian and international contemporary scene. In the space of our coexistence, in the time spent together in front of the stage, the theater brings us back to experience the collective encounter with bodies, words and emotions to make us reflect on our present. The theater experience has a formidable force and re-enchants the world. A project of the Venice Foundation. Curated by Susanne Franco (Ca' Foscari University of Venice) and Annalisa Sacchi (Iuav University of Venice) in collaboration with the Teatro Stabile del Veneto - Teatro Nazionale. Make Me Feel Mighty Real: Drag/Tech and the Queer Avatar at Honor Fraser March 3-May 27, 2023 (LA, USA) Honor Fraser Gallery in LA will present “Make Me Feel Mighty Real: Drag/Tech and the Queer Avatar”, a group exhibition surveying the conceptual and aesthetic proliferation of avatars in queer creative practices and the pervasive technological fantasies they have engendered. Curated by Jamison Edgar and Scott Ewalt, the exhibition features over 40 artists and chronicles seven decades of experimentation in photography, painting, film, performance, and animation to champion the tools and techniques that queer artists have pioneered to build community, cruise utopia, and enact unruly hybridity online and IRL. The exhibition is on view from March 03 through May 27. We lost our beloved @therealmeek yesterday and it’s taken me some time to comprehend, much less find the words for our loss. Big Art Group and Mikeah have been collaborating and chosen family for almost 20 years through our many projects, tours, and life events. To say that he was gifted doesn’t do his memory justice. He worked hard for his artistry, his friends, and his loves. He gifted us. He shared his sharp wit, fierce intelligence, unwavering kindness, rigorous creativity, and deep deep love in ever-flowing generosity. I was also thinking today about how he wove us all together, tying and connecting us through his collaborations. Weaving back, forth, and through his work with Big Art Group, Jay Scheib, Young Jean Lee, Big Dance, Alec Duffy, John Jahnke, Travis Chamberlain, Brian Rogers, Arden Theatre Company, Woolly Mammoth Theater, and many more I’m too fuzzy to remember. I feel so grateful to have known him, created with him, and loved and be loved by him. He will be missed in many unfolding ways. My heart goes out to everyone that loved him. - @caden_manson
